Al-Karkh University of Science held its first international conference on the recent contributions of geophysics and remote sensing techniques in oil explorations, with the participation of local and foreign experts, specialists and academics, in the presence of high-level political figures and officials.
HE Dr. Hussain Al Shahristani, the former Minister of Higher Education, said in a statement to the Department of Media and Public Relations of the University that Al-Karkh University of Science is a unique and pioneering experience. It has succeeded in passing traditional studies by specializing in the fields of science and modern techniques.
In addition, the country needed advanced technologies and disciplines to serve the country. Al-Karkh University of Science was established as a modern institution offering these specialties.
He pointed out that despite the difficulties that accompanied the establishment phase, from the budget that was suffering from the deficit and the lack of available buildings, laboratories and the necessary capabilities, the efforts of Dr. Thamir Abdul Amir Hassan, and the staff of Al-Karkh University of Science was effective despite the limited possibilities.
He Stressed that the holding of the first international scientific conference of the university and the completion of patents, and attraction of academic competencies are all a clear evidence of the great success achieved by the university.
